How to Remove a Chip From a Dog

Microchipping has become a common practice among pet owners worldwide. It ensures that if your furry friend ever gets lost, they can be easily identified and reunited with you. 1. Prepare: Gather the necessary tools such as a microchip scanner, alcohol wipes, and tweezers. Make sure you are in a calm and controlled environment.

2. Scan: Use the microchip scanner to locate the chip’s position in your dog’s body. The scanner emits a radio frequency that activates the chip and reads its unique identification number.

3. Locate the chip: Once the scanner detects the chip’s location, use your fingers to feel for a small, firm bump under the skin. This is where the chip is placed.

4. Sterilize: Clean the area around the chip with alcohol wipes to minimize the risk of infection.
